MZ. DEE

One of the San Francisco Bay Area's treasures, this reknown vocalist has a multitude of accolades from her performances of R&B, blues, swing and jazz. She has worked as the featured vocalist for legendary Johnny Otis, she's opened for James Brown, John Lee Hooker, Stephen Stills and Koko Taylor, and been featured at the San Francisco Blues Festival, and for the Neville Brothers at the Shoreline Amphitheater. Europe has discovered Dee also, and she's performed in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Greece and the French Riviera as the headliner act. The Italian press says "Ms. Dee's voice has the roar of a lion". In 2005, Mz. Dee and fellow Bay Area musician, keyboardist Linda Wiggins performed in Paris (with the club's house band rounding out the 5 pc band). Mz. Dee also performed with swing band Johnny Nocturne at the Italian Umbria Jazz Festival the last 2 years. In 2006, she performed at the Mt. Rushmore Blues Festival (South Dakota), was a featured artist also that year at the Great American BBQ Blues Festival (San Rafael), and featured again up in Napa at Headfeathers Music in the Courtyard, sharing the stage with the guitarist/singer Anthony Paule. Dee performed with Anthony at San Francisco's reknown blues club - Biscuits & Blues in December 2007. She is tentatively setting up a summer and fall 2008 European tour (already has some dates in July booked in Italy), and is open to offers at European festivals and clubs.
